Places to Play

This page describes how to join up to play. There are numerous leagues around. Some leagues where you put in your own teams and some where you just join up and they put you on a team. (Also check http://www.geva.org/placestoplay.html).

• Collingswood Volleyball Club (CBVC)
  • Starting its autumn indoor season the week of September 22nd.
  • There are openings for teams on Monday and Thursday nights.
  • Both nights are "B" level.
  • The cost per team depends on the number of registered teams. CVBC is a non-profit club. Usually the rate is between $200 and $300 per team.

  • Team fee: $200
  • League is open to eight teams
  • No more than 10 people per team
  • Three woman and three men on court at all times (less than two woman results in forfeit)
  • Matches are on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 PM with 75 minute time limit
  • Referees and shirts are included in fee
  • League begins Noevember 1, 1997
  • League runs for 10 weeks (including playoffs and championships)

• Garden Empire Volleyball Association (GEVA)
  • It organizes the USAV region for the New Jersey (and NY) area.
  • Usually you play, by registering your own team.
  • But you can either look to join a team, or contact GEVA and see if they can organize you on a team.
  • There are many different levels (all levels actually).
  • Tournaments are almost always on the weekend and last all day.
  • On a normal day, you would play 4 matches constisting of two 11 point games. (More games if you win!)
