With the win, varsity improves to 15-6, while JV downed the Ironmen to go to 16-4." SUB="Middle blocker Matt Frederickson had his finest defensive outing up front, stuffing 9 blocks to go along with 8 kills and 10 digs.  Outside hitters Chris Pomante (1 assist, 2 aces, 7 digs) and Dave Vitone (1 ace, 4 digs) combined for 34 kills, while Jeremy Palmieri added 8 kills, 3 aces, and 4 blocks. 		<OPPONENT NAME="Wayne Valley" DATE="5/7/2004" MAIN="Varsity picked up its intensity throughout the match, enroute to a 25-20, 25-18, 25-11 victory at home against the Indians.  This improves their record to 11-6, while JV picked up a measure of revenge against Wayne Valley, sweeping them in 2 to make thir record 13-4." SUB="Sophomore opposite Jeremy Palmieri erupted for 15 kills (.583 hitting %), 3 aces, 3 digs, and a block, while Chris Pomante added 13 kills, an assist, ace, block, and 5 digs.  Sean Howard, making his return to action, dished off 33 assists to go along with 6 digs, while Dave Vitone led the defense with 10 digs, a block, ace, and 9 kills." 		<OPPONENT NAME="East Orange Campus" DATE="5/4/2004" MAIN="Vernon rebounded from a two-match losing streak to defeat the Jaguars in 3 sets, 25-11, 25-21, 25-4.  Although the win improved the Vikes to 10-5, setter Sean Howard suffered a fractured nose, and will be sidelined until doctor's clearance.  JV also swept the Jaguars to improve their own record to 12-3." This makes varsity's record 9-5, while JV played its strongest match to date, with a 2-set sweep of the Cutters, making their own record 11-3." JV also saw their win streak snapped in a straight set loss to Wayne Hills, making their ledger 10-3." Scores were 25-8, 22-25, 25-13, 13-25, 16-14.  Vernon extended its winning streak to 5, while JV increased theirs to 6 with a 2-set sweep of BT." SUB="Junior setter Sean Howard got offensive late in the fifth game, handing off 45 assists to go along with 4 kills, 2 aces, and 11 digs.  Dave Vitone added 16 kills, an ace, and 4 digs, while sophomore Jeremy Palmieri spiked 6 kills, 2 digs, and 2 blocks, one of them the match-winner. Scores were 25-14, 19-25, 26-24, 22-25, 15-11.  With the win, Vernon improves to 7-3, while JV swept the Raiders to improve to 8-2." SUB="Vernon used a balanced hitting attack to keep pace with Lakeland, as outside hitters Dave Vitone and Chris Pomante each had 9 kills and combined for 27 digs. 		<OPPONENT NAME="Wayne Hills" DATE="4/1/2004" MAIN="Vernon's season opener was a tight one, but the Vikes played hard and rallied to a 17-15 deciding 5th game at Wayne Hills High School.  The 2nd time ever beating the Patriots, Vernon won the first and third games before closing out the fifth on a Dave Vitone kill.  JV also opened the season with a sweep of the Patriots." SUB="Vitone finished the afternoon with 12 kills and 9 digs, while Vernon's other outside hitter, Chris Pomante, led the Vikes with 18 kills, to go along with 10 digs and a block.
